Happy 3 years to us!

Yesterday was our 3 year anniversary! CRAZY! In some ways it feels like it should be longer, like I can't imagine what life was like before we got married, but in other ways 3 years seems so long. Being the romantic boy Aaron is he brought me home these beautiful roses along with some other fun surprises throughout the day. It was a great day! We went to Kneaders for the all you can eat french toast (delicious) then to Raging waters first with the girls then my sister Jodi was willing to watch them for a bit (thanks Jodi) while we went back with just the 2 of us for some romantic sliding. It was seriously a lot of fun, we definitely needed more alone time there, though. Aaron made me a really fun video to recap the last 3 years and it brought back so many great memories we've had. Brooke wrote a bunch of her memories with Cody on their anniversary and I loved reading them, so I'm going to copy her fun idea. Although, there may be more to these little stories than I have room to write and some of these may seem a bit cheesy, but I'm already starting to forget about a lot of the fun little things that have happened to us, so I figured I needed to record them somehow

Getting engaged in our first kiss spot (7th hole on Kahuku Golf course) and me pretending to love the $6 Claire's engagement ring Boogie boarding on the flooded fields

Surfing in town under the full moon

Love at first sight when Aaron came to help me with the badmitten nets, he became known as the mystery man

The night we fell in love at Kahana Bay and other fun scavenger hunts and things there

Our vacation days to Ko'olina

Maoni always peeing on our couch

My first impression after the love of first sight episode of Aaron mumbling under his breath, giving me dirty looks, and yelling at me while I reffed his intramural basketball game

Completely stuffing ourselves at Outback for Aarons birthday then the car broke down and we sprawled out on the grass until help arrive

Volleyball at Turtle Bay

Our first Valentines together.... ... I (heart) A , out of sugar cookies. Hannama Bay, Diamond Head, Cheescake Factory, gassed to sleep in Jenni and Davids car

Aarons bad first impression of me head banging and singing at the canal house

first hang out- trying to go hot tubbing at Turtle Bay but got kicked out

First visit to Aarons house found him singing to and watching Little Shop of Horrors afterwards having boxing matches - Jim getting knocked down hard by Alan and it being really awkward

Midnight run to Eggs n' things then tried to find a place to sleep in town before the Great Aloha Run in the morning. Aaron and I wanted to be alone, but kept getting kicked out of anywhere we went, well we finally found a nice little homeless man's place, but didn't realize it until the next morning. yikes!

Bike around the island with Dan the man Skousen. Camping at Kaena Point and Dans buddy having his car broken into and the thief trying to get away with his friends Mom's ashes

Trying to get the BMW up the Pupekea hill, I got stuck in the canal

Going to "our beach" all day and night
Kissing in the Banyan tress in town

Bombing the roaches then having them surround and invade us

Driving to town with the door open to let some air in, since there was no AC and the window didn't roll downKissing on the 7th hole at Kahuku golf course on our first date

When I first knew Aaron was in love with me when he couldn't keep his hands off me while ice skating

Getting lost with Jenni and David in the middle of a practice combat area at Schofield we were on the verge of running out of gas

Hiking stairway to Heaven at midnight with Nate and Erin, Nate and Aaron were so scared!!!

Hiking stairway with Jenni and David to see the sunrise the morning Aaron was set to go back to Ohio and he threw up 6 times right in a row (we never made it to the top). Aaron asking the guard at the bottom of the hike for a key to get back over the gate and then telling her we didn't have time to wait there while she got back up

Our unbelievably great Hawaiian wedding, thanks to my Mom

Our midnight runs to the Point

Laying in the hamick

Aaron sleeping on the uncomfortable hospital chair for 8 nights, cause he didn't want to leave me there alone

Aaron coming to the pool at 5 a.m. (he's not a morning person) to check up on me when I had my DVT. Also, when we first got married he would come running with me early in the morning to protect me cause it was still dark (didn't last too long)

Having really hard contractions in the middle of the night and waking Aaron up to tell him that and him sitting up saying "am I having contractions? no" then back to sleep

Sleeping out on the deck at the hotel in town, but ended up talking the entire night

Having our beautiful little girls - Kamaile and Emmy

First time Aaron got mad at me cause Erin Wardle wanted me to tell him what happened earlier that day, I refused. He thought it was something to do with him, so the only way to resolve the issue was to tell him I crapped my pants (its a long story, it really wasn't my fault). Thanks again, Ein

Leaving dances sopping wet with sweat

Playing the football game every Friday at Pounders

All of our "adventure Jessie Days

Playing with Kamaile and watching Aaron give her the smack down, tackle down, wiggity wiggity wack down

Getting married and sealed in the temple for time and all eternity

There are so many more great adventures and memories we've had in just the last couple of years, but I'll stop it here. I love you Aaron! I can't wait to make more memories with you.

Happy Anniversary!

Dinosaur Park

I've never even heard of this place, maybe its because my boundaries never went past Salt Lake until Julie and Derek moved to Layton, but out in Odgen there is a really fun Dinosaur park. Julie has taken her family there a couple of times and let us in on this fun place. Jenn brought her kids too. We had a great time! I actually felt so informed while I was there, I loved all the interesting dino facts, like.....they find a new type of dinosaur every 2 weeks, crazy hu? Its a really fun picture place, so we took a ton.

Kamaile loves being with her cousins.
They loved climbing all over these giant
creatures and playing in the sand. You wouldn't
believe how much sand was in her diaper.
This picture was supposed to be of me running from the dinosaur,
not a dino look alike picture....ooops

This one really scared Aaron, good thing I got it on camera at just the right moment.

I wish frogs really were this size and you could ride 'em.

Our Slimy Algae infested Pool

As much fun as our swimming pool has been this summer, I think we let the algae take over. The last 2 weeks Kamaile refuses to get in the pool. When we do get in its because I pull her in kicking and screaming, so I decided it just wasn't worth it anymore. When ya don't swim in it to mix it around for more than 2 days it starts getting slimy, so you can imagine after 2 weeks its pretty bad. The slime didn't stop the Germans though, they weren't afraid after being in Germany swimming in the murky beach waters of the Baltic Sea for the past month, our pool actually didn't seem too bad. Of course Kamaile loved getting in when they were there. Lately that girl makes me so embarrased because she just loves to be around everyone but me, even strangers! When I go to get her from nursery she clings to the nursery leaders for dear life, I basically have to pry her grip from them to get her to come with me. I feel like they are thinking man what does this lady do to her kids? I don't know many people in the ward but I don't think this weekly event will help my reputation. When we go the playgrounds, she won't let me help her climb up things or get off the slide it has to be strangers! I never did want a baby who was too clingy, but now I'm kind of jealous of those relationships.

On a high and in a Fight

Okay so I've got a story for ya'll that I can still hardly believe actually happened. So, this past week was the Shade half yearly sale. I went last time in March when I was basically 9 months prego and had to carry around Kamaile cause its too crowded for strollers. Well, after that experience I thought I am never doing this again, it was pure chaos! I waited in line forever and I really didn't even know what I had grabbed, I was just grabbing things as fast I could cause everything was going so fast. But, when I finally got home with all my stuff I decided maybe it was worth it, so once again I decided to venture out to the half yearly sale. I figured this time I know what to expect and I will plan ahead not to have Kamaile, I also knew exactly what I wanted I still had to bring Emmy with me, but I was hands free cause I had her in a pack, so I felt totally prepared for the craziness. So Brooke and I got there 15 minutes early but there was still a line of lots of shirt hungry women. When we enter the building it was CRAZY! This is the only big sale thing I go to when everyone is so anxious and willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want, in these situations all common courtesy and politness go out the window-it is survival of the rudest. So, anyways now that you may have a visual of the scene, let me get to the juicy part. I was getting shirts for 4 of my sisters in law as well as my sister, so I had a lot to grab. I grabbed all I could and then went off to the side to sort through my massive pile and make all the calls to see what they all wanted. While I'm talking on the phone and trying to console a screaming Emmy people keep coming up and looking through my stuff, so I have to tell them hey thats my stuff and they apologize and go elsewhere except for one girl. She was short with long black hair and a tatoo on her arm she ignored me, so I told her again those were my clothes, she still didn't acknowledge me, so I squated down to where she was and said "hey these are my clothes" she looks at me and says "I don't see your name on them". Ummm okay, I don't know what took over, I think it was just the stress of the whole shopping situation and a screaming baby but I snapped and kind of pushed her away and I don't really remember what I said something like no really these are mine anyways she got real mad and took a swing at me while calling me a "b___". I luckily ducked enough that she just barely got my shoulder. Without even thinking I tackled her and had her pinned to the ground, I only got one good swing in before Brooke was pulling me off her and a huge crowd was gathered around. As we walked away the girl came after me and started pulling my leg just like I'm pulling yours.

Ha ha ha! jokes!!! Okay no but really it was pure chaos everything is true except the whole fight thing, but I promise it could easily happen cause you just really don't care about being nice isn't the first thing on your mind. Despite the stress, once again I got home and tried everything on and it was well worth it! I feel like a new woman when I have new clothes.
Sorry that was a long story, but I've been on a high since I've been wearing those clothes and I also saw my new favorite movie, Hairspray with my mom and absolutely loved it! I was ready to get up and sing and dance. I was so giddy afterwards. Allie, if you haven't seen it I know you would love it, its for sure your kind of show

Another highlight of the week was last night, I finally beat Aaron in ping pong and it wasn't just a fluke one time thing cause I did again today. Yeah! Not to brag or anything, but I'm getting pretty dang good, so if any of you are up for the challenge I'll take ya on.

We had a little bbq in the park for Great Grandpa's 91st birthday

Happy Birthday Grandpa

The Provo Pool & Berries

We had such a fun day at the pool yesterday with Jenni, Chunky, Jack, and Grandma. This is by far my favorite pool. Kamaile loves going down the "big slide". We also had a great time picking all the fruit at Jenni and Davids, I cant get enough of those berries and neither can Kamaile.

Homemade Ice Cream & Ping Pong

Yes, this is what we've been up to....homemade ice cream and ping pong. Aaron made this ping pong table and insists that we play every night. I'll admit it's fun, but I have yet to win a game, so I'm not as into it as Aaron. I am really into the ice cream though. We tried this peach ice cream that was probably my favorite. It is super creamy and delicious!! This is an actual picutre of the ice cream I made - good hu??? jokes! (mine was better) I felt like I was a real good cook cause this recipe used words I haven't ever heard before like "macerate" and wierd directions like "strain the cream".

Makes 5 cups
2 cups fresh peaches, skinned, pitted and diced1/4 sugar1 tsp. lemon juice4 egg yolks3/4 cup sugar1 1/2 cups whole milk1 cup heavy cream1 vanilla bean, split in half or 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
Macerate the peaches with the lemon juice in a saucepan with the lemon juice and sugar for about 10 minutes or until syrupy. Simmer over medium heat until the peaches are soft for about 5 minutes. Let cool completely.Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until thick and pale. In the meantime, heat the milk, cream and vanilla bean until steam rises. Gradually add the hot cream to the egg yolks, whisking constantly to prevent them from scrambling. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over medium heat until the cream coats the back of a spoon, 5 to 8 minutes.Strain the cream and let cool completely. Stir in the peaches. At that point I used an hand-held mixer to puree some of the peaches and leave chunks into the base. Churn the mixture in an ice cream maer according to manufacturer's instructions. Transfer to a container and freeze until firm.

I'm feeling anxious that it is already August, I feel like summer is almost over, so I just want to be outside doing summer things all the time. We found this hike up Little Cottonwood Canyon that led to a pond. It was fun for Kamaile to throw rocks in, but it wasn't much of a swimming pond, which was a big let down since it was probably 150 degrees when we hiked it. Yeah HOT!

We also went to the swimming pool with the aligator slide - Kamaile gets so excited talking about the aligator slide but then when we go she's chicken and wont go down it until its time to leave and then we can't get her off it.
